Analysis of prices in the European natural gas spot market from 15 to 21 June May 2015
The European spot market average price for natural gas stood at $262.7 per thousand cubic meters during the reporting week, which was $2.8 (1.1%) more than the previous week.
Trading volumes on the European gas market increased by 7.9% compared with the previous week, to 266.4 million cubic meters.
The highest price for natural gas ($280.4; up 4.7%) last week was on the Italian PSV, which saw trading of 39.4 million cubic meters.
The cheapest gas ($254.1) was found on the Belgium Zeebrugge, 1.1% lower than the previous week.
Quotations on the German NCG and Gaspool were similar, indicating continuing strong commercial ties.
In the Austrian CEGH hub during the reporting week the quantity of realized gas decreased 7.2%, to 40.2 million cubic meters, with an average price of $267.8 (up 2.4%).
Forecast prices in the European natural gas spot market from 22 to 28 June 2015
The average price of natural gas in the European spot market stands at $261.7 per thousand cubic meters at the beginning of the next trading week on 22 June.
In the Austrian CEGH hub to the west of Ukraine, the cost of natural gas stands at $289.1 per thousand cubic meters.
According to long-term contracts, the average cost of natural gas on the European market in June-July will be a maximum of $256.2 per thousand cubic meters.
