Naftogaz has become an associated member of the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET), which includes over 100 energy trading companies in 27 European countries.

EFET membership will provide Naftogaz with better access to information on new regulatory developments in the EU. It will also streamline cooperation in diversifying supply sources and routes for Ukraine.

Joining the organization is expected to contribute to the incorporation of the EU standards in Ukraine, along with the liberalization of its natural gas market.

This cooperation will help Naftogaz fulfill its obligations as a participant of the European energy market in line with relevant regulations and directives of the EU.

Background information: EFET aims to develop gas and electricity trade in Europe through the liberalization of energy legislation. Naftogaz has been cooperating with its European counterparties based on standard EFET contracts since 2015.
