President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska discussed the development of cooperation in energy sphere for the diversification of energy supply to Ukraine and energy security of the entire European continent.

Gas must be an ordinary commodity," Petro Poroshenko said adding that we had almost achieved that in winter, were achieving that at the moment and were coordinating our steps with our partners from the EU, particularly with Slovakia. In his turn, President Kiska confirmed that reverse gas supply would continue functioning.

In the course of the negotiations, the parties discussed coordination and cooperation in military-technical sphere, particularly the issue of holding joint military training, further development and coordination of actions within the common unit "Tysa", participation of Slovakia in the NATO trust funds, inter alia, regarding the rehabilitation of Ukrainian servicemen. They agreed to expand such an interaction.

Also, the Presidents discussed the issue of local border traffic, namely the establishment of joint Ukrainian-Slovak border-crossing points that will simplify and accelerate the border-crossing procedure and "eliminate corruption in this sphere", as stated by Petro Poroshenko.
