Accusations of theft of transit gas by Ukraine spread by some media organisations are not at all consistent with reality, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev told at press conference on Monday.
"The Energy Ministry of the Russian Federation has already confirmed appropriate fulfilment of transit obligations by Ukrtransgas. Ukraine remains a reliable gas transit partner for Europe, Naftogaz of Ukraine's head said.
According to Andriy Kobolyev, Ukraine has on several occasions suggested that its Russian partners amend the transit agreement in order to make gas supplies to Europe transparent and avoid misunderstandings such as unfounded accusations of unauthorized gas tapping.
"Russia rejects introduction of any amendments. Apparently, the solution for both — this issue and the problem of transit tariffs, will be searched for at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce," Andriy Kobolyev said.
